Australia will begin their World T20 campaign by chasing a total after George Bailey won the toss and sent Pakistan in to bat in Mirpur.
After their loss to India on Friday, Pakistan made one change to their attack, opting for an extra spinner in an attempt to target what they perceive as an Australian weakness against slow bowling. Zulfiqar Babar was named in the side at the expense of Junaid Khan, who was the only man dropped from the side that played India.
Australia's top seven was easy to predict, with Cameron White the batsman who missed out on a place, but they decided against including bowling allrounder Daniel Christian. Instead, Doug Bollinger was named for his first match for Australia in any format since October 2011. Bollinger was not part of the original squad and joined the side as an injury replacement for Mitchell Johnson.
Australia 1 Aaron Finch, 2 David Warner, 3 Shane Watson, 4 Glenn Maxwell, 5 George Bailey (capt), 6 Brad Hodge, 7 Brad Haddin (wk), 8 Mitchell Starc, 9 Nathan Coulter-Nile, 10 Brad Hogg, 11 Doug Bollinger.
